The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has recently sent out new invitations.
This year they invited a total of 271 invites to people to join the organization and 12 of the 271 are musical names. Among them we find none other than Pharrell Williams. The invites come just days after the Oscars Academy publicly announced the new rules for the music categories, which prohibits members attending concerts by nominees unless in a movie capacity.
