6 Tips for Producers Mixing Instrumentals.

When mixing, remember that less is more. Ideally, the perfect arrangement and sound selection will need very little processing.

If you feel you need tons of stuff to make your drums hit, or you synths growl, or your bass move, you might need to go back to the drawing board and find some better sounds. But let’s suppose that you have strong sounds on deck and you just need them to fit together.

Talent vs Imagination by Jason Timothy

I am a proud non-musician.

I cannot read or write musical notation. I rarely know what musical key I am playing in. I have stickers on my keyboard reminding my which note is which. I’ve never taken any lessons (although I have discussed some fundamentals with a couple music teachers). I can still learn from picking up a “for beginners” or “for dummies” book on just about any instrument.

How to Choose an Audio Interface

In a world without tape, the audio interface has become the gateway to preserving sound for many people. Having your inputs, outputs, and conversion in one small box provides a cost effective alternative to discrete units. However, with such a saturated market, finding the right audio interface is now harder than ever!
